I titled this blog post “Love is Not Canceled” because we truly witnessed an amazing wedding during the thick of quarantine. Our county was one day away from being in the “yellow” phase -remember that? Haha feels like ages ago. We knew Brittany and Dan’s original date was coming up but all of the sudden we got an email saying – hey we want to have a micro-wedding can you be there? We were totally game except for the stay at home order being in place and everything. At that point we knew we wanted to help these guys out so we called our representative and asked if a socially distanced wedding would be okay to shoot and they said yes! Still grateful for that moment where we could say “Yes! We’ll be there!”
We had to say no to micro-weddings so many times during the red phase of quarantine (obviously) so this was the first time out of the house in quite a while. Brittany and Dan totally transformed this pavilion outside of their church to be the ultimate micro wedding location! Wondering why there was a fire going in May? Well on this day of May in quarantine – it SNOWED. During all of our portraits outside poor Brittany was shivering and we tried to get photos done quickly to go inside. They had to wait just a little bit longer as their wedding party drove past in a little parade waving and saying hello and best wishes. It was such a sweet moment!
They had a mini socially distanced reception and even cut their donut cake! Even micro weddings feel like regular weddings, too. We had such a great time on this day and I’m so excited to do it all over again in 2021!
See you cuties next year!
