REASONS I’M GRATEFUL THIS SEASON | Summer 2020

Okay it’s mid-summer and among the chaos of Covid-19 and the political unrest of our nation, I felt like now would be a good time to meditate on reasons I’m grateful during this season. ✨

If you haven’t already read through my Fall, Winter, and Spring posts, you can find them here.

A few reasons why I’m grateful this season:

  • Living close to my parents!

So I know the usual reason for loving the proximity of living near parents is because of having kids so your parents are able to watch and babysit them – but we don’t have kids yet! So for me, I am grateful to be living near them for a variety of other reasons. My mom is my best friend and we always have a good time together, so having her close by makes me really happy! Also, I’m really close to my dad and he is helping us with our house renovations which have been such a gift – I don’t know what we’d do without him!

  • Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions have been a lifesaver. I am so ready to start shooting weddings again but because of the regulations with Covid, that seems like it’s not going to happen. For now, I’ve been able to get out of the house and meet our awesome couples by doing engagement sessions, anniversary sessions, all the fun stuff!

  • Gardening

Yes, I’m a grandma and I love gardening. Hah! I don’t even care that this has become my new hobby – I love planting flowers and vegetables during the summer and enjoying the wait to watch them all truly blossom. I also love getting pollinators for the bees. Watching them fly up and cling to my flowers is the best thing!

  • Take out

Yes, I am grateful for take-out. 😂 My shopping has significantly decreased since quarantining and most of that shopping money has been funneled towards take-out and honestly, I’m not mad about it. We’ve been eating at all of our favorite places and this is definitely something we don’t do very often. #budgetlife

  • My Dog!

Okay, I miiiiiight say this on every post like this but I am really grateful for my pup! He makes being alone less lonely and I love having him sleep at my feet while I write these posts.
