Looking back at what a crazy year 2020 was, I decided to sit down and look at some of my favorite elements from our couples and events this year. The first on my list is the top 3 venues of 2020! We got to shoot at some really unique places this year including familiar venues, new spots, and of course back yards! We couldn’t have had this amazing year without all of our couples who make our jobs so much fun!
Let’s take a look at our top picks for wedding venues of 2020!
01 . Wyndridge Farms
Wyndridge Farms has been one of our top choice venues since we started wedding photography in 2019. This venue has everything; views, amazing food, bright and airy getting ready spaces (the inn is my favorite), amazing staff (Shayla Button is our favorite person and will take care of you!). One of the things we (and our couples) love most about Wyndridge is the fact that is a fully operational restaurant, bar, and inn that you can come back and visit or even spend your anniversary at! I totally wish my venue had the option to rent out the room and stay over! There is only one ‘con’ to this venue in my eyes – when it is a really sunny day, the chapel is sitting in a spot where the couple is in full sun, this doesn’t make for very flattering photos, BUT if your ceremony is only 15-30 minutes long, it’s not the end of the world!

02. Historic Shady Lane
Historic Shady Lane is by far one of our favorite places to shoot. Why? Because the photo opportunities are ENDLESS. Not just a figure of speech either, this property is massive and literally has a million options to shoot photos. We even recommend this spot for engagement sessions even if you’re not getting married here! It is truly an amazing location filled with greens, ivy, a greenhouse, a gorgeous white tent, everything you need for the perfect day. Another plus is that they are super easy to work with.

03. Hauser Hill Event Space
This is a newer space for weddings and can accommodate large or small weddings. We did a micro-wedding here this past summer and all I can say is WOW. This spot used to be a local winery go-to but they have since shifted to an event space and we couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m a sucker for mountains in the back of images and lots of layers – which this location gives plenty of! We also got to take photos in the vineyard. I just couldn’t believe this was right in PA for couples to take advantage of!

04. Boxhill Mansion
Boxhill Mansion was the epitome of elegance – we loved the sunroom space with the checkered floors and of course the gardens where portrait options were endless!

05. Lucie’s Backyard.
In the year of 2020, there is no question a back yard HAD to be on our list. Lucie and Philip’s backyard wedding was one for the books. This wedding had everything you’d have at a normal venue as well as views to match! The bride’s sister had built a real moss wall, accompanied by an illuminated neon sign. There were vintage couches, amazing details, and a little bit of rain for good luck. This couple partied hard and I was totally here for it! 🥰
