Don’t Forget These 8 Things on Your Registry

DontForgetThisOnYourRegistry.jpg

Hey All!

Tom & Em Weddings is back with a practical tip on your wedding registry. You know the time when you have to decide what fancy plates you want? We’ve surveyed a lot of married people… like a lot… and they had a lot to say about what not to forget on your wedding registry. Hopefully this sparks some ideas for you and your fiancé.

1. Outdoor Supplies

What does this even mean? Yard games, camping supplies, lawn chairs, and other outdoor necessities! We live in a more rural area and this is the best advice. If I could do it again I’d get all of the above on my registry asap. There have been sooo many times when I needed a lawn chair at some family function and have had to sit my but on the ground. It might just be a rural PA thing, but get yourselves a lawn chair.

2. A Printer

This seems pretty simple but it’s actually a pretty high price item that you’re probably going to use more often than you’d think. Being married comes with paperwork that you’ll need to have printed and keep close by. Heck, add some printer ink on there while you’re at it!

3. Meat Thermometer

A totally underrated classic necessity.

4. King Sized Fuzzy Blanket (for the bed)

I don’t care what you say, a king size fuzzy blanket is absolutely essential to any healthy marriage. Imagine movie nights with popcorn, snacks, and your amazing fuzzy blanket.

My favorite (pictured below) was purchased at Walmart!

5. Pots, Pans, Dishes, Silverware

This is your chance to ditch the hand me down/silverware collection from college and get on to your style! I personally was a huge fan of Green Pans and put them on my registry with my fingers crossed. Best. Decision. Ever!

6. Ninja Blender

I put this on here because it’s a very affordable(ish) blender that has multi-functions. If you don’t get the kitchen aid mixer there is a mixing function, blending option, personal size option, etc. This is one that we didn’t get on the registry but bought ourselves and have no regrets!

7. Kitchen Aid Mixer

I feel like this list wouldn’t be complete without the holy grail – the kitchen aid mixer. This is one I put on my list but did not receive. Honestly, it didn’t make a difference for me because I don’t bake very often but for everyone who has one they say that they absolutely love it so why not!

8. Instant Pot

I will be the first to admit that I am the queen of kitchen appliances but I honestly did not know what the instant pot really offered. The instant pot is a pressurized cooker that is multiple appliances in one. It’s a slow cooker, a steamer, saute-er (?), you can cook stew in it. Basically you only need this appliance. lol no but really we got a rice cooker, a crock pot and an instant pot and we haven’t touched the crock or rice cooker because the instant pot does it all! It’s my go-to and I can’t recommend it more!

Honorable mentions:

  • A step stool

I can attest to this one! It’s super practical and one of those things you didn’t know you needed.

  • Trash Can

  • Shower Curtain

  • Vacuums

  • Soda Stream!

What am I missing? Leave a comment below with what you think is a MUST HAVE on your registry!

Great ideas!! Comfy, large bath towels are always a nice gift too. And a nice suitcase set for traveling. Both things we got as wedding gifts that I loved and used all the time.

These are such great gift ideas. It’s always the practical gifts that are the most useful. We were gifted a set of quality steak knives and a pressure cooker for our wedding and we still have both 21 years later!
