We know wedding planning is hard.
There are a lot of vendors involved and sometimes a lot of cooks in the kitchen. As we were planning our wedding it became really clear what our priorities were and I really wish someone had told me about establishing them in the beginning of the wedding planning process.
For us, our priorities were:
-
the atmosphere (venue, floral, decor),
-
food
-
photography
For others, priorities may include:
-
wedding dress
-
video
-
ceremony
-
the dj
-
cake
-
day of coordination
-
wedding planner
-
hair
-
makeup
-
details
Whatever your priorities are make sure you keep them in the forefront of your mind while you are planning. At the end of the day, you get one wedding – no do-over days as much as some of us would like. ππ»ββοΈ (my wedding was crazy but thatβs a story for another day).
Any way, we subconsciously decided what was most important to us and put our planning energy and finances into those specific things. Even though we were on a wedding budget, we knew investing in our priorities was going to be worth it for us.
Every single person during the planning process told us that they wish they had invested more into a wedding photographer/videographer that they trusted and from our experience, we totally agree. If I could do it all again, weβd save more and hire our dream photographer. We wouldβve had a lot less heart ache afterwards.
Once your main priorities are set – youβre off to the races!
