Intimate home wedding in Collegeville, PA | Abby and Edwin

Abby and Edwin got married at Abby’s family home in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. This intimate home wedding was extra special for us, as the newlyweds are actually personal friends of ours. It’s always a special honor when friends choose us to be part of their special day! Abby’s family graciously hosted their closest friends, putting together the intimate ceremony and dinner reception as a sweet gift to the newlyweds.

Beautiful, home-made wedding details

Abby’s mother played mother-of-the-bride, designer, florist, and hair and makeup artist, among other roles that day. Putting together a home wedding is no joke, but she handled all the details and stress with such grace. She whipped together a floral crown in record time! It was so impressive! When she saw her daughter fully dressed and ready for her wedding day, there was so much joy and laughter in the room. What a beautiful gift to be able to give!

Edwin and Abby had a first look outside the greenhouse at Otts Exotic Plants. The greenhouse provided a unique and vibrant setting for portraits, surrounding the two in beautiful summer blooms! Abby had one of the most voluminous bridal bouquets I have ever seen. I am impressed that they made their floral arrangements themselves, and also at Abby’s arm strength!

A sweet and intimate ceremony

Like most of our weddings lately, the rain threatened to interrupt the festivities. The forecast called for rain all day, and we had little pockets of clear skies to work around. We were able to avoid the rain for their ceremony, as well as their portraits. And that’s all we needed!

Abby and Edwin had a very touching and personal wedding ceremony. We were so lucky to be included in the intimate home wedding, and to witness their day up close. They even treated us honored guests to a song, which they sang together as Edwin played guitar. The rain started coming down after their ceremony concluded, and we headed inside for a home cooked meal.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Torres shared a sweet first dance on Abby’s parents’ back patio under the bistro lights. They had their wedding cake special ordered and overnighted to them from the Milk Bar, a New York bakery.
