A road of obstacles lead to the big day
Trevor and Shir seemed to have every obstacle possible in their path while trying to plan their wedding. Not only were they dealing with the usual struggles of the pandemic, but also trying to replan a wedding that was supposed to happen last spring! Like that wasn’t enough, the day of their wedding they had a surprise rainstorm during the more important parts of the day. It’s always a little frustrating when the morning is clean and beautiful and once you’re ready, the skies open. But that seems to be the theme of the year over here. (Hoping that 2022 brings us a little weekend sun!) We witnessed wedding party members using pool umbrellas to usher guests from the patio to the tent, which now had a small current of water flowing on the floor of the tennis courts. Despite the dampness of the afternoon, those skies opened just for the ceremony and the rain was lighter for the rest of the evening after.
Two faiths celebrated in holy matrimony
We couldn’t get enough of their sweet day. The setting was Shir’s mother’s home in the beautiful area of Potomac Maryland. They had an elevated backyard wedding with one of the most gorgeous tents I’ve seen in a long time. (and I’ve seen a tent or two haha). Their ceremony was inter-faith highlighting Shir’s Jewish faith and Trevor’s Christian believes which even included two officiants. They ended their ceremony with the sweetest foot-washing ceremony. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the yard. They made the absolute best of this day and danced the night away to their incredible band who kept the party going all night long.
A love story fit for a fairy tale
Trevor & Shir’s love story is one for the books! These two met while on an airplane and talked the entire flight. Unfortunately, on that flight, they did not exchange contact information. Luckily, on the flight home, they were also on the same flight (what are the odds) and Shir passed her number to Trevor on her ticket! That same ticket was framed so Trevor could use it during their proposal. The framed ticket also made its way to the wedding as well. Slightly obsessed with these two and the blatant courage Shir had to shoot her shot.
