Getting Ready at the Graduate
Danielle and Pat decided to get ready at a staple State College hotel, the Graduate. This hotel is seriously so cool and makes for the perfect spot for every State College wedding. We love the Penn State and football themed rooms. This hotel had beautiful natural light in the lobby areas and the light in the rooms gave the perfect amount of dramatic lighting for getting ready. The girls had their hair and makeup done there and then got ready on site at Gillbrook Farms. The guys got dressed and hung out with plenty of refreshments 😉 to keep them going throughout the morning.
October State College Wedding
Danielle’s car actually broke down on the way to the venue from the hotel. I couldn’t help but think this was kind of iconic because her mom’s car ran out of gas on the way to her own wedding. Although I’m sure it was a little stressful in the moment, it definitely felt like it was a moment that was meant to be. Danielle really had to cozy up with Pat because the wind and rain was not going to let up. You can see in the ceremony photos that the willow tree branches are almost sideways. Everyone kept good spirits throughout the day. Once we started taking photos with the bridal party the rain started coming out again. We had to take a break inside to see if hopefully the rain would let up.
Personal Touches and Style
When the photos finished, we could finally relax a little bit and then it was time for reception. Once you get to the reception portion of the photos you’ll see Danielle’s boho style and personal touch in every decoration. The colors and arches were so modern and tied the wedding together so beautifully. I loved having the juxtaposition of their engagement shoot because both styles are so different, but equally them. I have so many favorite elements to this wedding day. The bouquet is definitely one of them, too! You’ll have to let me know in the comments what element from the day is your favorite!
